World Interfaith Harmony Week

Dear family & friends…

Many of you know that I have worked with the Toronto Steering Committee for World Interfaith Harmony Week for the past few years.

This initiative was proposed by H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan and unanimously adopted by the United Nations in October of 2010. The first week of February has been World Interfaith Harmony Week ever since The week is an opportunity for all interfaith groups and other groups of goodwill to show the world what a powerful movement we are. I especially appreciate that it’s during my birthday week!

This year, our Toronto Committee has been awarded Third Prize and I am grateful for the opportunity to fly to Jordan, along with Paul McKenna from Scarboro Missions, to represent our community. We leave Thursday morning, the award ceremony with His Majesty will be on April 20th and we return on the 21st. It’s going to be a whirlwind trip!

I am incredibly proud of the interfaith work we do in Toronto and I honestly believe we are a model for the rest of the world. I am especially grateful to all the pioneers who paved the way and all those who supported my journey. This experience is a completely unexpected gift! For me, it’s another reminder that you just never know where life will take you. Literally! 🙂

Peace and blessings to you all.

Peace be your journey…Michelle
